The University will require additional land for the proposed medical and engineering college campus under Gwalior September 28, 2017 / Jivaji University. For this purpose, the site of the proposed land of village Turadi and Alapur on the highway was observed by Shri Rahul Jain, Municipal Commissioner, Shri Vinod Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Jivaji University. During the nearly 82 Bigha government land inspections present on the spot, Collector Shri Rahul Jain instructed the revenue administration that the distance of the main road from the proposed land and the limit of forest land should be decided seriously, The situation of the dispute is not created.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Sangeeta Shukla said that Jivaji University is one of the oldest universities in the state. According to the UGC's Knowledge, the ideal university must have availability of 800 acres of land. He said that much of the land available with the present campus of Jivaji University has been taken by the District Administration for road and other development works. As a result, the requirement of additional land for the proposed new medical college and engineering college is being felt at the university. Efforts have been made by the University for a long time to allot land. They need to make the land allotment expeditiously.
Registrar Dr. Anand Mishra said that the 82 bigha land situated in Turar and Alapur by the district administration is allotted to the University and the University is also able to purchase private land situated in the middle to connect the main road.
