Gwalior March 26, 2017 / Government of India is organizing well planned development of all the cities of the country with no discrimination and transparency. Government has organized healthy competition to convert cities into smart cities. Gwalior also won this competition with the help of the city dwellers. The concept of Smart City in Gwalior will be embodied by shared efforts alone. This was stated by the Union Panchayatiraj, Rural Development, Sanitation and Drinking Water Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar. Mr. Tomar was churning ideas on the development of Gwalior city in a discussion organized by the Gwalior-Chambal division federation and CNBC. In the program, Urban Development and Housing Minister Smt. Maya Singh said that the draft of the planned development of Gwalior has been prepared. The plans included in this draft will soon be embossed.
In this discussion organized in the LNIPE Auditorium here, Union Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar said that soon the air transport of the country will be started for all the days of the week for Mumbai's financial capital Mumbai. Also in the next two months, transportation from Gwalior to Delhi, Lucknow, Bhopal and Indore will also be available from the airways. This will accelerate the industrial development of Gwalior. Mr. Tomar said that under the pre-planned plan cities need well planned development. The model of development should be such that can bear the burden of growing population in the longer run. Gwalior is also being developed with shared efforts on this model.
Urban Development and Housing Minister Smt. Maya Singh said that there is immense potential for development of Gwalior. Government is committed to return the glory of Gwalior again. He said that using modern technology, the city will be developed keeping the heritage format of Gwalior. He said that the goal of the state government is that every person born in the state gets the house to live. For this purpose, House Guarantee Bill has passed in the Assembly. Under which, permanent houses will be built for the needy in Gwalior city. He said that parks will be developed for the development of the city, parks for big parks, ladies and children. Along with this, smart transport will also be developed in the city.
It was informed in this manthan that in view of the overall development of all sections of the people especially the lower age group in the city, the development of the city will be given a concrete shape. In addition, there will be such efforts that local students get jobs in Gwalior only. It was also said in the meeting that 100 percent of the people of the city should provide their own homes under the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme and the Chief Minister's Housing Scheme by 2022. All the habitations of the city will be arranged for clean drinking water and sewer line under Amrita Yojana.
Mayor Mr. Vivek Narayan Shejwalkar, SADA President Mr. Rakesh Singh Jadoun, Collector Dr. Sanjay Goyal, Municipal Commissioner Shri Anay Dwivedi, Vice Chancellor of Jivaji University Prof. Sangeeta Shukla, the city's prestigious educationist, entrepreneurs and businessmen also keep their thoughts. In the program, Mr. Hari Ranjan Rao, MD of State Tourism Development Corporation was also present.
Gwalior included in livelihood scheme
On this occasion, Union Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar informed that the livelihood scheme for rural areas is being implemented by the government in order to stop the migratory movements from the villages. Gwalior district has also been included in this scheme. This will make the village self-reliant. Clearly, the pressure of population on Gwalior will be reduced.
