It is a matter of happiness and pride that the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's dream of 'Make in India' has taken a shape on the soil of Madhya Pradesh in the form of establishment of country's first small weapons manufacturing unit of the private sector. This is a first joint project under the FDI ( Foreign Direct Investment).. This was said by the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He was addressing the inaugural programme of World Level Small Weapons Manufacturing unit established in the partnership of Punj Llyod Company and Israel Weapons Industries at Malanpur Industrial area of district Bhind. The programme was chaired by the Union Minister for Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Shri Narendra Singh Tomar.
M.P. Leads in Implementing Centre’s Decision-Union Minister Shri Tomar
Union Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar said that Madhya Pradesh leads in implementing decisions taken by the Union Government towards Skill Development, Employment, Agriculture, Defence and other sectors under the ‘Make In India’. As a result the first defence unit of its kind has been established in Chambal region of the state. He further said that relation of Israel and India is old and strong. The relations will become more strengthened after the establishment of small weapons manufacturing unit at Malanpur. Shri Singh mentioned that FDI in defence sector is one of the several bold decisions which was taken after the formation of new government at centre.
CM Shri Chouhan mentioned that Madhya Pradesh is the first state which has prepared an investment policy after the announcement of the Prime Minister about 49 percent FDI in defence sector. As a result, this unit has been established. He further mentioned that defence equipment which were used to be imported by the country will be manufactured on Madhya Pradesh's soil now. The state government is making prompt efforts to make an investment policy in this sector to realise the dreams of the Prime Minister. Sanitation call given by the Prime Minister has been successfully implemented in the state. It is a matter of joy that 8 cities of Madhya Pradesh are among the 25 cities selected in the competition held between 500 cities of the country. First and second position are achieved by Indore and Bhopal. Moreover, Gwalior has occupied the special place. He congratulated office bearers of urban bodies and people of the state in this regard.
Moreover, Shri Chouhan stated that Bharat and Israel are strong friends. Both the countries are committed for elimination of terrorism from the world. Shri Chouhan heartily welcomed Ambassador of Israel and other representatives present in the programme. He assured them that they will not repent for their investment in Madhya Pradesh. Not only employment opportunities will generate here but it will pave a way for prosperity and development of the world.
In the beginning CM Shri Chouhan and Union Minister Shri Tomar inaugurated the small weapon manufacturing unit lighting a lamp and unveiling the inscription. They apprised themselves about the weapons being manufactured here while inspecting the unit.
Now Both Soldiers and Weapons belongs to this Place
CM Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated that Bhind district is a pride of Madhya Pradesh. Soldiers of this place are rendering their services courageously at the borders. It is a matter of pleasure that now soldiers of this area will have weapons manufactured in the land of Chambal. They will now contribute in the security of the country with more high morale.
Chambal Express Way will Become Engine of Economic Development
Four Kinds of Weapons will be Produced
Used During Surgical Strike
Director Manufacturing Business Punj Lloyd informed that four types of weapons will be produced in Malanpur in the joint partnership of Israel and Punj Llyod. Israel has delivered the complete technology to produce these weapons. These weapons include Short Rifle, Tavor, Sniper Rifle, Galil, Light Machine Gun and Carbine. Out of these, Tavor and Sniper Rifle were used successfully during the surgical strike.
Furthermore, Shri Chouhan said that an about 300 meter long Chambal Express Way will be constructed in areas of Sheopur-Morena and Bhind districts through properly structuring ravines.Biggest livehood of the country will be developed through industrial development on both the sides of the express way in the land which was notorious once. He mentioned that this express way will establish new milestones for the allround development of Chambal region.
CM Shri Chouhan will tour Israel
CM Shri Chouhan said that he will visit Israel after the Prime Minister visit. Especially opportunities of joint efforts will be explored in the agriculture sector. Also deliberations will be made for joint partnership on cultural and defence related subjects.
Chief SIVT of Israel Defence Ministry Shri Micheal Ben mentioned that Israel Defence Ministry supports the cooperation of India. Transfer of information and technology will be continued in future also. He further said that Israel and India will keep on deliberating towards cooperation in defence industries developing advance defence equipments.
President S.K. Group of Israel Shri Samaay Katsav stated that we are fortunate to have Punj Llyod as our trustworthy and knowledgeable partner. He mentioned that we have become one to face proven techniques of battle of IWI with mutual cooperation. Shri Katsav said that Isreal is ready with enthusiasm for contribution in ‘Make in India’ Programme.
Ambassador of Israel to India Shri Daniel Carmon stated that we are celebrating 25 yeras partnership of India and Israel. This partnership is expanding becoming more versatile.
Chairman Punj Llyod Shri Atul Punj also expressed views on the occasion. He mentioned that Punj Llyod defence system will fulfil the requirement of most advance defence equipments used in the country. Shri Atul said that we are moving ahead with full techniques to produce defence equipments under the’ Make in India’ form.
It may be mentioned that Israel weapon industry is leader in the world for manufacturing advance weapons like ‘Tavor, UG and Galil’. These kind of weapons are being used at present in India by special force of Indian Army, Navy, Marine Commandos, Coast Guards, Airforce Commandos, Border Security Force, Kobra and special units of CRPF.
Minister of State for Narmada Valley Development and General Administration Shri Lal Singh Arya, MP Dr. Bhagirath Prasad, MP Uttarakhand Smt. Rajlaxmi Shah, MLA Shri Narendra Singh Kushwaha, Collector Shri Ilayya Raja T., Managing Director Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation Shri Satendra Singh, Public Representatives, Concerned Officers, Officers of Israel and Punj and Llyod were present in the programme.
