First Delhi-Gwalior-Indore flight flagged off by Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar under UDAN Scheme.

Gwalior May 31, 2017 / Gwalior has got a big deal in the field of air transport. Union Minister of Panchayatiraj, Rural Development, Sanitation and Drinking Water, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar flagged off the first flight of Air India for New Delhi and Indore by showing a green flag from Rajmata Vijayaraje Sindhiya Airport Maharahpura on Wednesday. He inaugurated this air service by lighting the lamp. Now through the air service, Gwalior is directly connected to the country's capital New Delhi, the main city of business activities, Indore and financial capital Bhopal.

Air India has started the Mumbai-Indore-Gwalior-Delhi and Delhi-Gwalior-Indore-Mumbai flights under the "Flying" project of the Government of India. The Union Minister Mr. Tomar handed a ticket to the Gwalior airport from the first flight to New Delhi and Indore.

On this occasion, Union Minister Shri Tomar said that today is a moment of happiness for Gwalior residents. From today onwards, direct flights from Gwalior to New Delhi and Indore have become available. Mr. Tomar said that this air service will increase business. Tourism will also be encouraged. He said that the Gwalior residents had been waiting for this facility for a long time with great emphasis. He said that for the time being Delhi, Indore and Mumbai, the air service will be available for three days. Such efforts are being made that Gwalior residents get air services on every day of the week.

On the occasion of the inauguration of the flight service for New Delhi on Wednesday evening, MLA, Shri Bharat Singh Kushwaha, Chairman of GDA Shri Abhai Chaudhary and other public representatives including Mr. Rakesh Jadun and Mr. Devesh Sharma, Chairman of GDA, Mr. Ashwini Lohani, Chairman, Air India, Dr. Sanjay Goyal and Superintendent of Police Dr Ashish and Air India officials were present.

Departing from Delhi at 10.50 am, departing Gwalior at 11.45 pm and from here 12.15 pm Arrive at 1.40 in Indore, Indore to 2.10 pm and Mumbai 3.50 pm Depart from Mumbai at 10.30 am, Indore arrives at 12.15 pm and depart at 12.50 pm, Gwalior arrives at 2 pm and depart at 2.30 pm and Delhi arrives at 3.30 pm.
