State will have 62 lakh hectare irrigation by 2022: MP Water Resources Minister Narottam Mishra

Gwalior has been continuously increased irrigation facilities in the state on 08 March 2018. With an unprecedented increase in the irrigation sector in the state, the existing irrigation capacity has been increased by 42 lakh hectare. Of this, 34 lakh hectare is irrigated by the projects of the Water Resources Department and the Narmada Valley Development Department. In spite of short-term and severe drought in the state this year irrigation has been done in Rabi in 27.79 lakh hectare and Kharif in 2.35 hectare with projects of Water Resources Department and Narmada Valley Development Department. Water Resources Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra gave this information in response to the meditation notice of MLA Mr. Ramnivas Rawat today.
Dr. Mishra said that our government is determined to develop irrigation facilities in every region of the state and is working in a fast pace in a time bound manner. At present, 16.72 lakh hectare of Rabi irrigation projects of the Water Resources Department and Narmada Valley Development Project is under construction. Apart from this, projects of 9.59 lakh hectare have been approved across the state. After their construction, water resources department and Narmada valley development projects in the state will increase from 36 lakh hectare to 62 lakh hectare irrigation facility in the year 2022. In addition, more than 11 lakh hectare irrigation projects have been identified in the state, whose government is very much willing to accept it. Our government has not given any shortage of funds in irrigation projects and in the next years we are going to spend more than Rs. One lakh crore in irrigation projects.
Minister Dr Mishra said that the families of Saharia tribe are coming in the submergence area of ​​Chettikheda project in Vijaypur tehsil, which had been previously displaced for Kunopalpur visit. The situation of double displacement of the families of Saharia tribe is emerging. In this page, we are continuously making efforts that after providing land for land to the families of Saharia tribe, the project should be approved. There is also a provision in the budget for the project.
Similarly, for the irrigation of about 12 thousand hectare, the project has been built with micro irrigation system for 35 villages near Hirnikeheda village from Chambal main canal. The DPR of the project is in the test. Preliminary survey of the Mungeri Medium project was conducted. The survey is being conducted again to increase the water storage capacity of the project and to irrigate the additional area. Our effort is to provide irrigation benefits to 9500 hectares of this project.
Minister Dr Mishra said that a stop Dame has been made on the river Koono. Approvals are being given on achieving a suitable project. Action taken and construction of lake construction is being done by the government in a time-bound manner and by promptly checking irrigation projects.
